Fosshotel Laugar is a 2/3 star type Comfort Tourist Class hotel, operated as a summer hotel, which is partly used as a boarding school during the winter. Rooms without facilities and sleepingbag accommodations are basic, while rooms with shower/wc are rather spacious by Scandinavian standard. The rooms are located in four buildings.

How to get there:
The village of Laugar is located on road # 1 between Lake Myvatn and the town of Akureyri. Coming from Akureyri: drive road # 1 and about 15 km after passing the waterfall “Godafoss” you will reach Laugar. The hotel is located on the left side of the main road and features several large white buildings with a red roof. The front desk is located in the building with the Fosshotel flags and next to the small duck pond. There is an excellent new outdoor swimming pool next door to Fosshotel Laugar. The hotel buildings are used as a boarding school from September to May. Laugar is very centrally located to visit Godafoss waterfall, the whale watching town of Husavik, Lake Myvatn and Akureyri, as the capital of North Iceland.
