Cottage accommodation in south Iceland

Minni-Borgir is only 75 km (47 miles) from Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. In the vicinity of Minni-Borgir you will find the largest summer cottage area in Iceland. Through the years Icelanders have chosen this area for their holidays, mainly because it so close to Reykjavik, the weather is nice and with so many of Iceland’s natural pearls close by, this is the perfect place to come and enjoy Iceland. 

All our houses are high quality all-year-around houses. We warm them up with thermal heating and they are carefully insulated. So if snowing, freezing, raining or sunny, it’s always very comfortable in our houses. And the thermal hot pools located next to the houses are always ready for use and very popular.

The Houses

Skogarborgir 1 and 2 is a very attractive option for groups. Seven cottages are clustered in each group which makes the place very attractive. Skogarborgir 1 has a few hot tubs grouped together, which makes a great party mood, but Skogarborgir 2 has a hot tub at each house. In the middle of each cluster there is a house where groups can come together for a meal or a party of any kind. There are beds for 5 people in each house at Skogarborgir 1 but beds for 7 people in each house at Skogarborgir 2.

There are 7 luxuary houses at Minniborgir that are 80 sq m. These larger houses, are with comfortable beds for up to 9 persons, offer all the  amenities expected in a comfortable house: Gas barbeque, a hot tub, a living room with comfortable seating, two warm-water showers, a fully equipped kitchen with dish washing machine, a large refrigerator with a freezer, a good electric cooking stove and dinner table and tableware for up to 12 persons. High-quality mattresses are in the beds, two television sets and more. We offer, of course, prepared beds with duvet, pillow and bedclothes for families or groups, if requested. On top of that, every house has a wireless, high-speed internet connection.

The largest and classiest house at Minniborgir is 100 sq m and the most splendid dwelling we have to offer. It has 9 beds just like the 80 sq m houses, but is overall roomier and the most luxurious.
