Join this amazing airplane tour that will give you the chance to discover the mountains of the Skaftafell National Park and the Hvannadalshnjukur peak, both offering wonderful landscapes. In this flight we will fly over the colorful area of Kjos located at the end of Morsardalur on our way to the highest peak of Iceland, Hvannadalshnjukur (2119 m). The peak is part of the crater rim of Oraefajokull volcano now filled with ice that spills over to feed its outlet glaciers. Oraefajokull is the largest active volcano of Iceland and it is a part of the Vatnajokull Glacier. It has erupted twice in historic times, in 1362 and 1727. This tour offers a great view over the glacier tongues coming of the main Vatnajokull ice cap.
