BC04 – Midnight Ride Biking Tour

Discover the outstanding summer night of Iceland

Iceland is known for its gorgeous midnight sun. This spectacular site of the sun wavering in the middle of a ravishing red sky is a natural phenomenon occurring only in the summer months in Iceland.

This is an easy level tour that begins in the heart of downtown Reykjavík and takes us to Grótta, the beautiful coastline located at tip of Seltjarnarnes peninsula. Birdlife in Grótta is preserved and an old lighthouse is located on Grótta Island. The scenery from Grótta is stunning with Snæfellsjökull glacier lying at the end of the horizon. From Grótta we cycle along a bike trail that follows the Ægissíða coastline and through the downtown area. If interested, we can end our tour at a local café or pub for a drink. The magic of the midnight sun and beautiful coastline will relax your mind. This is a ride that will get you in touch with the peaceful nature that surrounds Reykjavik.

This guided bike tour is designed with English speaking traveler in mind. We offer other languages on request.

Available: On Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 22:00, from June 15th to July 15th.

Details

All of our participants are supplied and fitted with bikes and safety helmets for your tour. Before taking to the bike there will be a bicycle orientation and tour safety talk.

Biking distance: 13 km.

Duration: 2-3 hours.

Minimum: 3 participants.

Level: Easy.

Included: Quality bike, helmet, professional and experienced English speaking guide.

Meeting point

Our tours this summer will be operated from Icelandic Travel Market Tourist Information Center in downtown Reykjavik, the heart of our capital city. The house in Bankastræti 2 is one of the Reykjavik´s oldest buildings, built in the middle of the 19th century. We look forward to seeing you.
