Big Hot Springs and a Glacier Tour

Borgarfjordur with its fertile farmlands; the productive hot springs at Deildartunguhver, Europe's largest hot spring; the wonderful cascading falls, Hraunfossar, picturesque, 1 km wide waterfalls in the Hvita River
and Langjokull, Iceland's second largest glacier are among the stunning natural wonders on this very scenic super jeep excursion.

Once outside of Reykjavik we drive through Kjalarnes to Hvalfjordur - with its steep sides and indented coastline, this fjord is simply beautiful. We carry on to the fertile farmlands of Borgarfjordur and visit the hot springs at Deildartunguhver before reaching the wonderful cascading falls, Hraunfossar, fed with groundwater from beneath an ancient lava flow.

From here we continue to Iceland's second largest glacier, Langjokull, from where the panoramic views are stunning. As an optional extra, snowmobiling on the glacier is recommended. But the amazing scenery doesn't end here as the drive back is through the desert valley of Kaldidalur, a valley and mountain pass north of Thingvellir, in the rugged highlands of Iceland,with a stop at Thingvellir National Park. An Iceland excursion for those who want to combine scenery with some action.
