Welcome to DILL Restaurant, a new Nordic restaurant located in the Nordic House in Reykjavík! DILL Restaurant is the mindful creation of Chef Gunnar Karl Gíslason and Sommelier Ólafur Örn Ólafsson, pioneers of the New Nordic Kitchen in Iceland.
Dill is much more than a restaurant. It is the result of a dream Gunnar Karl and Ólafur have shared for a while about a small restaurant with personality.
A restaurant where guests not only eat well, but where the meal becomes an experience in itself and classic Nordic ingredients are prepared in a modern way with contemporary kitchen gadgets.

At Dill Restaurant, the atmosphere is different depending on whether you join us for lunch or for dinner.
During lunchtime, the atmosphere is informal and the menu simple, short and new every day. On the menu you will find traditional Nordic and Icelandic dishes that have been modernized.
Dishes like “bixe mad”, meatballs, lamb shanks and “plokkfiskur” are dressed in new clothes and served in nice clay pots on the table along with a nice soup, salad and dessert.
For dinner, we put on our best clothes and do New Nordic Kitchen at its best. Every week we arrange a new seven-course menu with wine selected to match each course.
Our objective is to offer our guests a unique experience every time, both in terms of originality and quality.
At DILL Restaurant we are rediscovering our Nordic culinary roots and ingredients, seasoning them with modern technology and unlimited creativity.
Only perfection is good enough for us.
We are a newly opened restaurant and while we are putting together an impressive cellar, the wine list changes rapidly.
Much ambition is put into matching the wine menu, and we also offer a wide range of wine by the glass.
The restaurant can be hired for the evening for private parties; private dining is available in the Alvar Aalto room, which seats up to twelve guests. You can also invite the chef to your own house or any other location. Please be aware that if you make reservations for a group of 20 people or more, you will automatically have the restaurant exclusively.

DILL Restaurant is located in the Nordic House in Reykjavík, which was designed and built in 1968 by renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto.
Alto also designed all the furniture and décor in the house, all of which is still original. The house is located in the center of Reykjavík in a quiet wild bird reserve with a view over the lakes and old town.
