Extreme Experience in IcelandFive days’ adventure, action from morning to evening
Most people that drive over Kjalvegur mountain road mention how they think Icelandic nature is both fantastically beautiful and extremely terrifying at the same time. Extreme Iceland plans here a tour where participants have to take on precarious glacial rivers and glaciers alike and at the end of the trip we'll take a look into the Icelandic folk lore and have a glimpse into the world of Icelandic ghosts. Day 1: We'll drive from Reykjavik to Kerlingarfjoll mountains. From there we'll hike up to the mountain cabin of Setrid, where we will stay for the night. The Setrid mountain cabin is spacious and well furnitured cabin close to the gorges of Blautahvisl river at the roots of Hofsjokull glacier. Day 2: At morning time we'll wade the Blautahvisl river and over it's dunes of sand over to the Nautoldulaug pool. There you can experience a natural hot pool, regain strength and rest. From there we'll hike up to the base of Blautahvisljokull glacier and we will hike over it. From there we'll trek down the Blautahvisl river's gorge, the river is waded in two places and we'll stop by the Illifoss waterfall and from there we'll hike back to the cabin. Notice that we will hike with a light backpack. Day 3: Participants will hike from the Setrid mountain cabin to the Kerlingarfjoll mountains. We will hike through the Hveradalir valleys and view the geothermal area located there. We will stay over night in Kerlingarfjoll mountains. Day 4: Participants will hike to Hvitarnes. We will stay in the FI cabin located there. In the evening guides will tell tales about local folk lore, stories about the brothers of Reynisstadir, ghosts in Hvitarnes and about early settlements in the area. One lucky (or unlucky) partcipant will get to stay in a haunted bunk bed. Day 5: Participants will head back to Reykjavik.
