Natural hot bath and hot springs all around

The geothermal area around Hengill plateau is the second most powerful on Earth. This is a high heated area due to a volcanic chamber stationed beneath it and thousands of hot springs and steaming vents can be found in the area. It can be found close to the town Hveragerdi.

Landmannalaugar

A Nature Wonderworld

The landmannalaugar environment is literally a wonderland. The rich colours of the mountains surrounding the area and its outstanding contrasts appearing in the raven-black and glitteting riolit lavafields, are truly amazing. The neighbouring Hrafntinnuhraun lava-field is also very beautiful.

Hveravellir under the northern lights

Hveravellir - a unique nature reserve

The geothermal pool at Hveravellir is unique.

Hveravellir is one of the most beautiful geothermal areas in the world with smoking fumarolees and beautifully shaped with sky blue, boiling water. It is a special experience to have a look around, whether it is in the summer or winter.
