Great tours, Great people

We did two tours with Extreme Iceland (Arctic Adventures), the Horseback Riding and Snorkeling Combo Tour and the Glacier Grand Slam. The tours themselves were pretty great. However, and I imagine this is pretty unusual, there was some confusion with the date we were supposed to do the first tour and we had to rearrange our schedule in order to do the tour. Then, when we had the tour rescheduled, after the snorkeling we were taken back to our pick/up drop off point when we were supposed to be taken directly to the horseback riding location. After the initial screw up I immediately called the parent company (Arctic Adventures) to make sure we were in the right spot for the 2nd part of the tour. It turns out we were not! Fortunately we were able to make it to the horse farm in time for the tour. Everyone involved was very kind and helpful and tried to be as accommodating as possible but I think we were simply a little unlucky. We had a great time on the tours and our guides were really great and professional. The fissure between the two tectonic plates was incredibly clear. I don't think those who snorkeled had a much different experience than those who scuba. The Laxnes horse farm was pretty neat and has a lot of great family history. The Glacier Grand Slam was pretty special. We went out on the smaller Fjallsarlon glacier lagoon. It had been pretty windy when we arrived so most of the "icebergs" were all on one side of the lagoon. The 2nd part of the Glacier Grand Slam took us to Skaftafell National Park and we had a pretty amazing time there with another knowledgeable guide. Despite the initial mix up we had a great trip and wonderful experience in Iceland!

Pretty great

The Silfra fissure was absolutely stunning. Had one of our party get a dry suit with a hole in it that should have been noticed prior to use but beyond that couldn't fault the tour. Might be nice if there was a complimentary towel/plan in place for these instances instead of laughter and shrugging it off. Overall didn't detract from the tour very much. Horse riding was amazing and despite an unruly horse or two we had a lot of fun. The staff at the Laxnes farm were very helpful when the horse bolted and looked after us well.
