Tour details

The tour will start bright and early. We collect you from your chosen pickup point in Reykjavik (please note that this can take up to 30 minutes depending on your location).

From there we will take the short drive to our ATV base camp (just 15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik). Upon arrival one of our friendly experts will give you a quick safety talk and show you how to use your bike. Once everyone is ready we will get on the road and begin our ascent up the Hafrafell Mountain: it is a fun climb and you will be surrounded by some amazing scenery. But it really gets good once we reach the top, where you will be rewarded with a truly breathtaking view of the surrounding area, you will see: Reykjavik, in all its glory and the Esja Mountain which so dominates the skyline around the capital. Both sights are well worth the climb and it is the perfect way to appreciate the natural beauty which surrounds the capital.

Teamwork is crucial!

After that we will drive you to the banks of the Hvita River, where, after a brief safety talk, we will begin our rafting adventure. Once we are out on the water, you will glide through the sometimes serene, sometimes violent waters, all the time gazing at the mesmerizing rock formations that have been carved over the millennia. Of particular interest is Brúarhlöð Canyon (the white river canyon), which is eerily beautiful. Brúarhlöð Canyon has been sculpted by the river over the millennia and contains imperious rock formations and potholes amongst its breccia walls. Watch out for the two imperious rock pillars, known as Karl and Kerling (Man and Women), which local legend claims are petrified trolls! At the Canyon the brave ones amongst you will have the opportunity to jump into the river from a nearby cliff: providing an action packed end to an amazing day.

At the end of your hard day’s work: we will take you for a hot shower and relaxing sauna, to the background of even more incredible natural scenery. This really is an amazing day out and will provide you with memories that will last a lifetime.
