Reviews on TripAdvisor

"My friends and I spent the whole day touring the Golden Circle and even got to go snowmobiling on a glacier. It was a full day, but totally worth it. We were picked up by our tour guide in Reykjavik in a super jeep! Our guide was very knowledgeable and took us for an amazing ride up the glacier. We went snowmobiling first and the experience was incredible! The company provides all the gear you need to keep you warm."

Tour Description

Strokkur Geyser

Tour Itinerary

We will start bright and early: collecting you from your Reykjavik accommodation at 08:30. (Please be aware that this process can take up to 30 minutes, depending on where you are staying).

From Reykjavik, we will set off to the famous Golden Circle: the scenic journey will take about 40 minutes, but don’t worry there are plenty of things to see along the way. We will begin by visiting the Thingvellir National Park, which is both steeped in history and stunningly beautiful. There you will see the historic site of Althingi, site of the world’s oldest operational parliament: Icelandic parliamentarians have been meeting at Althingi since 930 AD and the modern Parliament bares the same name. Thingvellir National Park also has some of the most unique geology in the world: having been crafted by both extreme heat from volcanos and extreme cold by the ice. When you see Thingvellir you will understand why Iceland is described as the land of Fire and Ice.

From Thingvellir, we will move on to the iconic geothermal area around Geysir hot spring: here you will see the incredible Geysers throw water and steam up to 25 meters into the air. The Geysir hot springs have become synonymous with Iceland and it is impossible not to appreciate the awesome power of nature when you see them.

Gullfoss Falls Golden Circle

The magnificent Gullfoss Falls in the Golden Circle

After Geysir we will travel on to Gullfoss (the Golden Waterfall). Gullfoss is truly one of the natural wonders of the world and a perfect spot to take a photo, in front of the cascading water. If we are lucky enough to visit Gullfoss on a sunny day, then the water turns a majestic golden brown colour and a rainbow will form above the falls. Gullfoss, is truly a spectacular sight and should be on everyone’s bucket list.

By then you will no doubt be hungry, and it is possible to purchase some lunch at the Gullfoss Café, before we move on to Langjökull glacier. Finally we will kick things up a notch, by snowmobiling around Langjökull, Iceland’s second biggest glacier. Langjökull, is the perfect end to the perfect day, combining stunning beauty with the fun of riding a snowmobile: it has something for everyone and it is impossible not to have a good time at Langjökull. After Langjökull, tired but incredibly satisfied we will return to Reykjavik.

The Golden Circle Tour offers a once in a lifetime experience: in just one day you will see and do things that take other people the entire lives. So don’t delay, sign up today and cross four things off you Bucket List!
