"A great combination tour to see much of Iceland in one day. Whale watching in the morning and golden circle in afternoon. This tour added a few stops to a standard golden circle, which were worth it. You visit - Hellisheidavirkjun Power Plant,Thingvellir National Park ,The famous Geysir, Gullfoss Waterfall, Faxi Waterfall, Efstidalur - Icelandic farm, Kerið Volcanic Crater, Laugarvatn Geothermal Area. Both guides were excellent and well informed."

Whales are beautiful animals and one of nature’s most extraordinary sights. This cruise will take about 3 hours. The abundant marine life and the crew's expertise has ensured we have sightings on over 90% of our tours.
Our whale watching tours are focused mainly on the southern part of Faxaflói, just off Reykjavík. Each day we scan the area for signs of whales as we never know for sure where we might find them. Sometimes we have to go far while at other times the whales are quite close to shore.
In rare occasions, we head to other areas and/or depart from nearby harbours e.g. Hafnarfjörður, Keflavík, Sandgerðir or Grindavík. This is the case when weather conditions or chances of seeing the whales are greater there than in our normal area.
The Golden Circle in a minibus
This classic tour will take you to three of Iceland’s most popular attractions: Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area, and the National Park Thingvellir.
Thingvellir National Park
We start our tour with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Thingvellir National Park. The area is famous for its great historical importance and has many awe-inspiring geological features. The Eurasian and American tectonic plates dring apart here, resulting in a thrilling rift in the middle of the park, where we can walk in between the tectonic plates. Althingi (the Icelandic parliament) was formed on these rocks in 930 AD, making it the oldest parliamentary site in the world.
Geysir Geothermal Area
Our next stop will be the geothermally active valley where we will experience the power of Earth on forms of erupting geysers, bubbling mud pots and will walk in the steaming ground. We will also see Strokkur geyser, which spouts every five minutes or so and projects steaming water to a height of about 60-100 feet.
Gullfoss Waterfall - The Golden Waterfall
Next, we head over to Gullfoss "the Golden Fall", the most famous waterfall in Iceland. Its power is inspirational and we can stand so close to it that we feel the mist of glacial water on our faces.
At Extreme Iceland we prefer to operate tours by minibus in smaller groups. This gives us the opportunity to deliver the personal service we feel you deserve.
