The bonfires in Reykjavik generally start at 20:00 and are in the same place year after year. The one on Ægissíða in west part of Reykjavík is near the city centre. Two hours later, most people will go home and watch a popular comedy show on television. The streets will be quiet until about 23:30 and then people rush out. A great spot to watch the fireworks is at Hallgrímskirkja the big church on top of Skólavörðustígur street. Many local and travellers gather around the church to blow up and watch the fireworks. Nightlife in Reykjavik starts about 01:00 and goes on until 06:00 in the morning.
