RDF the heartbeat of dance and choreography in Iceland invites artists and audiences alike to congregate around a programme of artists whose work displays an apparently uncynical adoption, staging and localisation of pop formats, vocabularies, strategies, tactics and technologies.
From radio broadcasting, to music videos, to album making, to concerts, to pop dance – November's edition brings with it a concern for what pop can do for the micro-communities of the stage, the gallery and the local music hall.Contemporary choreographers from around the world are invited to participate in the beggest dance event in Reykjavík. Performances, workshops, installations, lectures, meals, informal and formal discussions, parties, a festival bar, and a lot of dancing.
Participating artists include: Ásrún Magnúsdóttir (ÍS) and Alexander Roberts (ÍS/UK), Christian Falsnaes (DK/DE), Erna Ómarsdóttir, Valdimar Jóhansson and Shalala (ÍS), Halla Ólafsdóttir (ÍS) and Amanda Apetrea (SE), Juli Reinartz (DE), Nadja Hjorton (SE), Ula Sickle (CA/PL).
