This annual festival of contemporary and new music is held in Harpa concert hall during the darkest period of Icelandic winter. The music is a beacon of light and hope, not hard-rock or metal music as many people imagine. Myrkir Músikdagar or ‘’Dark Music Days Festival’’ was founded in 1980, as a platform for Icelandic composers to present their work, but today it is open for everyone to participate from both Iceland and abroad. Great opportunity to enjoy and discover new music.
