The Great Fish Day is an annual festival held in Dalvík, a small fishing village in North Iceland. It started as a 1-day event but due to the success it has extends over a few days, now is held from Wednesday - Sunday. The festival mostly wants to show the importance of fishing in Iceland, one of the biggest industries in the country and it played a huge role in the development of Dalvík. Variety of entertainment fills the day, such as live music, theatre, art shows and you will definitely not become hungry as there are seafood buffets around the harbor where you can also take a look at many species of fish that are found around Iceland.
