This 7-day festival was created in 2002 with support from Icelandair, The Icelandic Hotel, The Gastronomy School and the City of Reykjavík, since then the festival has gained worldwide acknowledgment and become an annual event in Reykjavík. The festival reunites exceptional chefs from locals to international and team up with local restaurants to cook a 3-course meal with only quality Icelandic ingredients. Celebrity chefs arrive to be the judgment team at the festival and only 3 chefs are chosen in the finals to compete for the title of Food and Fun Chef of the Year. During these days the city is in full action and the atmosphere sociable, tasty and vibrant.
