The National Icelandic Horse Competition is known to Icelanders as the ‘’Landsmót’’. It has been held annually since 1950, on that year it was at Þingvellir National Park (Thingvellir). On this convention all horse lovers reunite from abroad for joyful and competitive 7-day festival, this is one of the largest events of the international horse community. The main race is Gæðingakeppni where rider is free of deciding how they set up the program and they can show the gaits in whatever order fits them and their horse best, it is open for all people interested in competing who enjoy showing the best qualities of their horse - from children’s class up to the adult classes, there is no age distinction!
