Verbud11 is a family-run restaurant specialising in fish. We, of course, also serve meat and vegetarian options. We put a strong emphasis on always using fresh and healthy ingredients.
The fishing company Sindrafiskur ehf, who own the trawler Sindra RE-46, provides us quality fresh fish. We offer Icelandic lamb and various other Icelandic games, all caught wild. We never offer meat that has been raised in a cage.

All our bread is baked daily in our restaurant, we can therefore ensure the highest quality, healthy and delicious.
We strive to offer children and adults alike only the best food possible. Kids can appreciate fine food as well, which is why provide a more evolved children´s menu offering the possibilty to order half dish of every item on the menu for children 12 years and younger. Child portions are priced accordingly, costing less than half of a full meal.
In 1913 the construction of the harbour in Reykjavík began, it was finished four years later. The whole environment and the activities related to fishing industries have changed in many ways over the years. The old cabins in the harbour have been converted in recent years into various restaurants and cosy coffee shops.
These changes occurred mainly after the city changed the law regulating the activities in the harbour area.
Currently, there is only one company still operating in the old fishermen's cabins, Sindrafiskur EHF. This company is owned by the same family who run the restaurant verbud11. Sindrafiskur Ehf has been processing fish in cabin N°10 in this cabin since 1970. In 1989, the company bought cabin N°11 and work continued there. All other cabins are the property of the harbour authorities.
In the beginning of 2014, it was decided to renovate the fishing station and convert it into a restaurant. In celebration of it's heritage, the decision was made to name the restaurant, verbud11. The family has decades of experience in all fish related matters.
It should be noted that this family has been operating the fishing vessel RE-46 since 1977. When the boats is docked, our visitors can visit the ship in the harbour. The crew of Sindri RE-46 have the important task of delivering quality fresh fish to the restaurant.
In 2013, students of the Applied Cultural Studies at the University of Iceland shot a short documentary about Jón of Sindra. He is one of the owners of Verbud11 and Sindrafiskur. The KOPAR Adventure is a tasting menu designed to enthral your taste buds and take you on a guided tour to ecstasy. Some parts of the adventure you will share, but some you will have to tread alone.
You will find a vegetarian dish in all of the menu sections, sometimes more than one. If travelling with a party likely to take the Kopar Adventure it is advisable to contact the restaurant so that they can prepare a true vegetarian adventure for you.
There's of course wheelchair access, and a children's menu is available as well.
