The Golden Circle tour encompasses some of Iceland’s most iconic sights, including Geysir, where seething hot springs, throw boiling jets of water up to 25 meters into the air! The magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site, Thingvellir National Park, which combines stunning natural beauty and geological and historical significance. Thingvellir has the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, running through its center, meaning it literally straddles the continents of Europe and North America, also home to Althingi, the original site of the world’s oldest Parliament! Finally, there is the majestic Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall), whose majestic scenery and golden waters have enchanted people for centuries.
This incredible river rafting experience begins at Drumboddstaðir, from where we will glide along the pulsating rapids of Hvítá (the White River). It is the ideal combination of serene canyons surrounded by spectacular natural beauty, along with adrenaline-pumping white-crested rapids. At the Brúarhlöð Canyon, you will have the chance to leap from the cliff into the seething river below, an exhilarating experience for adventurous souls. We will be accompanied by safety experts throughout the entire trip and provide all the equipment that you will need for this magical experience.
Glacier Hike and Ice Climbing
Hiking and ice climbing on the mighty Sólheimajökull Glacier is an experience that combines stunning natural scenery, with adrenaline-pumping fun. There are a host of incredible sights on show in this crevice-dotted wilderness, which your friendly guide will tell you all about. Then, around halfway through the tour, we will pause and try out the pulsating sport of ice-climbing (we provide all the necessary equipment), before we explore the ever-evolving glacier some more. It is ideal for anyone who wants a unique experience in a frozen wonderland.
Snorkeling in Silfra
Silfra is a magical, alien world, which is completely bathed in blue. It is located in the gap between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, meaning that you will be swimming in the gap between two continents. This combined with the incredible underwater visibility that the site provides, thanks to its icy-blue glacial water, makes it one of the finest diving sites in the entire world.
Crafted by volcanic activity many millennia ago, lava tube caves are one of the world’s most fascinating underground phenomena. They are formed by the flash-cooling of molten rock, when an area becomes less volcanically active and are normally home to fascinating rock formations, vivid colors and much, much more. This tour will take you to one of these underground delights, alongside a friendly guide who will tell you all about the wonders contained within them.
Hot Spring Hunt
We will make the scenic journey to the Reykjadalur Valley at Hveragerði, which combines a spectacular natural backdrop, with a plethora of hot springs, both large and small. Once we reach the valley, we will bathe in the hot spring river that bisects it, a wonderful experience, surrounded by rolling hills and wispy plumes of smoke, rising into the air.
The Icelandic horse
Icelandic horses are totally unique, thanks to the isolation of the species, meaning that you will be riding the same horse as the Vikings did. They are famous for their unique gait, known as the tolt, which means that they always have one hoof on the ground. Icelandic horses are the ideal way to explore the rugged Icelandic wilderness, experiencing the incredible natural scenery, in a fun and enjoyable way: riding in Iceland is an experience that you won’t want to miss!

The tour begins at the majestic Gullfoss Waterfall (Golden Falls), where water cascades across a number of lava steps, down to the luscious green canyon below. On a summer’s day a combination of the light and the rocks beneath the water, causes it to have a golden hue, which gives the falls their name, while glorious rainbows are also commonplace. It is the perfect place to gain a new perspective on the awe-inspiring beauty of nature, a profoundly beautiful place, which will remain with you for the rest of your life.
From there we will travel to the Geysir geothermal area, which hosts Strokkur, a violent geyser, which propels bubbling, jets of molten hot water into the air. You will also see the now dormant, Great Geysir, which gives all geysers their name and was the first geyser to be named in Western literature.
Then we will move on to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that hosts Althingi, site of Iceland’s first parliament in 930 AD, which makes it the world’s oldest still operational national parliament. It is also steeped in geological significance, housing the gap between the North American and European continents, along with a host of stunning natural features, including turquoise lagoons, spectacular rock formations and a whole lot more.
The final stop of the tour is Drumboddstaðir, our river rafting base on the Hvita River (White River). Hvita offers a combination of adrenaline-pumping, hair-raising, whitewater rapids, alongside quieter areas that offer a tranquil place, with exceptional natural beauty. Gliding down the waters of Hvita is a sublime experience: an adventure, which is set to a majestic natural backdrop.
