Guesthouse Hali is in the South of Iceland and is one of the closest guesthouses to the Glacier Lagoon. Here you will find comfortable accommodation in the South East of Iceland, in the heart of the region of Vatnajokull Glacier
The Guesthouse is an ideal choice for photographers who want to be near Jokulsarlon in order to capture Iceland’s truly magical light that makes already extraordinary landscapes even more striking. There are a total of 37 rooms sleeping 75-85 guests in single, double and triple rooms.
The fully licensed restaurant is located in the cultural heritage center at Thorbergssetur, with seating for up to 110 guests, serving local food from the Hali farm. Breakfast is served daily, a light lunch and dinner is from 6-9 p.m.

Its convenient location is on the ring road, Iceland’s principal highway only 70 km west of Hofn, the nearest town for shops and other services. All scheduled buses from Hofn to Reykjavik and vice versa stop at Hali.
At Guesthouse Hali there is a museum and a cultural heritage center dedicated to the memory of Thorbergur Thordarson, (1888 – 1974) one of Iceland’s most famous authors. The exhibition provides a unique insight into the life and works of this enchanting author, along with cultural artifacts and stories of past generations.
Please note it is 68 km to the next supermarket. In the wintertime, you can also have breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Booking is necessary.
